  1. i am having trouble locating a part for a eclipse sea lion kayak.the part is located on the stern just in front of the rudder.it looks like a rubber gromet with a wellnut inside of it.a bolt goes through it with clips on top for the rudder cords .what is it called and where might i find one.also there is a metal pole under the seat that runs the length of the cocpit is it a necessary part or can it be removed? look forward to hearing from you B.L.

Those old boats can be tough. Try one of the bigger outfitters, like Austin Kayak for parts, but I usually fashion my own parts. As for the internal keel- it gives the kayak rigidity. I wouldn't remove it, but if you can get it out without damage, you can always try it and see what happens, then put it back in if needed.
