Kayak Safety: First Aid Kit

So here’s my checklist for my first aid kit.  I carry a pretty comprehensive kit because I lead trips.  If you are unsure about anything, just drop me a line at: Mrurmston@gmail.com
First Aid (packed in a crush-proof, water-proof container)
  1. Electrolyte tablets
  2. Sudafed
  3. Ibuprofen
  4. Aspirin
  5. Antacid – Pepcid AC / Zantac
  6. Benadryl allergy tablets
  7. Band-Aids
  8. Gauze pads
  9. Mole Skin
  10. Antiseptic towelettes
  11. Medical Tape (waterproof & regular)
  12. Neosporin
  13. New Skin / Liquid Bandage
  14. Ace Bandage
  15. Medical / rubber gloves (non-latex)
  16. Gold Bond / Baby Powder
  17. First-Aid / Burn Cream
  18. Visine / Eye drops
  19. Hydrogen Peroxide or Iodine wipes
  20. Rubber Bands
  21. Swiss-Army Knife / Leatherman type tool
  22. Tweezers
  23. SAM Splint

  1. Read all written instructions for use of prescription medications and possible complications, and store them with the medication. Consider buying a commercial first aid kid or consulting your physician for help in assembling your kit. Consider taking a wilderness first aid course before departing on a back country trip. Do not give medication to children or pregnant women before consulting a physician.
